And certain oils may be used as dietary aids to promote vitality and wellbeing.

How Our Bodies React to Essential Oils

For me, or not for me… That is the question!
Our bodies are all different and what may cause illness or ailments for one person might be different for someone else. Further, what essential oil might be very effective for one persons problem, might be less effective for someone else. The bottom line is that essential oils work, but don’t try one thing and say; “well, that didn’t work”, and give up.

Application
There are several ways to use oils. They may be applied topically with massage or with a carrier to different parts of the body. This might include reflexology, aroma touch technique, heat or cool pad application. Many can be effective taken internally, others are most effective used aromatically.

We don’t want you to feel overwhelmed, but we do want you to be persistent and find the right oil for you and your situation and discover the best way to use it. As you open the bottles and experience them in different ways, you will begin to understand the best oils for you and the most effective way to apply them.

Where do I Start With Essential Oils?

To begin using essential oils you just need to OPEN THE BOTTLE! Just start out with an oil you are interested in like Lavender, Lemon or Peppermint, and maybe try one of these suggestions:

Lemon

  • Add a few drops to your water to freshen your water and begin cleansing your circulatory system.
  • Add a few drops to a bowl of water to clean and eliminate germs and pesticides from all your produce.
  • Add a drop to honey to sooth a sore throat.
  • Use to clean kitchen counters and stainless steel appliances.
  • Apply to warts 2-3 times daily until wart disappears!
  • Apply directly to cold sores

Lavender

  • Apply to the bottoms of your feet each night before bedtime to soothe and calm the system for a more relaxed and peaceful night sleep.
  • Use directly for any bruise, cut, or scrape to heal the tissues quicker.
  • Add a few drops to a capsule each morning and night to begin internal healing of all systems and to keep the blood sugar levels regulated at normal levels.
  • Apply immediately to help calm reaction to a bee sting or bug bite.
  • Apply immediately to soothe burns.

Peppermint

  • Use with Lemon in water for a healthy, refreshing mouth rinse.
  • Inhale deeply to invigorate lungs and increase alertness.
  • Apply to neck and forehead with Lavender to calm headaches.
  • Apply to forehead or bottoms of feet to reduce fever.
  • Apply to soles of feet to keep cool, or for relief from hot flashes.
  • Apply to aching joints or muscles for pain relief

    Essential oils can be used daily to combat Candida. BE PERSISTENT!

In alphabetical order. (*) Means it is more highly recommended.

Internally:                              Externally:

This process may be repeated for months when necessary. Candida is hard to get rid of when it is all throughout the body systems. Remember to be persistent and you will prevail!

Caprylic Acid:

Commonly found in pure coconut oil. It is a fatty acid and an excellent fungus fighter. Caprylic acid is absorbed by the body quickly and easily, it dissolves the cellular membranes of the unwanted fungi and renders it inactive. Use coconut oil as a salad dressing replacement, or on other cooking.

How do you know if you have Candida? Try the “Spit” test -distilled water in a cup, first thing in the morning gather saliva and spit into the cup. Wait twenty minutes. Check for whispy strands or any type of collection of the saliva. This is Candida. If your saliva just dissolves completely, you are less likely to have a problem.

Remember: Whenever you are cleansing ANYTHING in the body, be sure to drink plenty of water to keep the body flushing, and take a good vitamin and mineral supplement to aid the body organs in assisting the cleansing process.

When trying to eliminate Candida from the body you must be persistent, and remember that it does take time. Don’t expect to be clear of it because you took the oils for a week straight. It is a yeast, it grows rapidly, and you are feeding it every day by the food you are eating. Give your body time to adjust to the change of less Candida and better health.

Use oils that are highly anti-fungal.

Oils that attack FAT and Cellulite:

Basil, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Thyme

 One of the reasons the body uses fat is for a natural way of storing unnecessary toxins and other chemical elements that are not needed directly at that time in the body.

The problem comes in storing too much fat.

Each cell in the body contains cellular memory. Even fat cells to a degree.

Also, excess weight can be stored because the other organs in the body are weakened, or debilitated in some way so they are not functioning properly. They might be overproducing, or under producing.

 Basically your body is STRESSED.

 The best way to lose weight is to teach the body that it can naturally let go of that stored fat because it is just simply not needed anymore. The best way to do this is over time and by being consistent.

- Begin to eat healthier, slowly.

- Begin to exercise a little bit more each week.

- Make sure to nourish the body with plenty of water every day (this is practically free)

- Make sure you are taking a vitamin supplement for all your nutrients and vitamins.

- Begin to use essential oils to heal and repair the bodies organs to perform their normal functions.

- Begin to “Think Thin” being positive with your weight is a lot better than dragging yourself down.

- Stay active in doing the things which truly bring you the most joy in life.

- Learn ways to teach your body to let go of daily emotional, & mental stress.

Just begin something.

When your mind is taken away from always worrying about your weight, your body will let go of the weight naturally.

Weight is just a side effect from issues you are currently doing in your life. Don’t focus on the weight, don’t even focus on the issues. Simply focus on doing something good for yourself on a continual basis. Soon this becomes a habit, and soon the habit becomes natural. Then the body “Naturally” lets go of the weight.

Take the oils internally: Why? Simple answer: The chemicals in the oils naturally attack and attach to unnecessary fat cell. They stay attached to them and help them be eliminated from the body.

Recipes to try with the oils:

Grapefruit -1 to 3 capsules full every day. Try Grapefruit in you water.

Grapefruit and Lemongrass -1 to 3 capsules mixed equally everyday.

 Any mixture of oils including 1 or all of the above listed oils daily in capsule.

Try flavoring your salads with rosemary, thyme, or basil in some fractionated coconut oil.

Get used to taking the oils internally, this is where they do the best job at eliminating the fat and cellulite. Be committed! Plan on using the oils for 1 year at least. You must give your body time to heal and to repair, then it will let go of the weight PERMANTLY!

Candida

 Candida Albicans is a natural strain of bacteria that lives in our bowels, but when allowed to grow unchecked can cause havoc on our immune system and show up as a myriad of symptoms such as allergies, rashes, pain, stomach upset, inflammation, reactions to smells, headaches, etc.  We see it in the form of fungus, infection, epidermal irritations, and thrush; there are oral forms, vaginal forms, blood forms, and intestinal forms.

The best way to treat an overgrowth of Candida is to cleanse with an essential oils blend, clean up the diet, get plenty of sunshine and fresh air, and exercise, and repopulate the lower intestine with good bacteria by using a probiotic.  Refrain from consuming anything with sugar, mold or fungus, as Candida Albicans is a yeast and will feed off of these foods.

 Initially, as you proceed with the cleanse it will create a “die off” effect and you will feel worse for a small period of time, while the Candida is expelled. Most suggest taking the cleansing blend for two weeks on and then off for one week as you take a probiotic. Then repeat the cycle, as needed, until Candida symptoms are gone.  Following this, for long term maintenance, continue with a good diet, exercise, and a monthly cleanse (2 weeks of the cleansing blend and 1 week of probiotics).

Avoid using antibiotics, birth control, and foods that are high in sugar or yeast as much as possible.

As mentioned elsewhere as the candida is expelled various “die off” symptoms may occur.  Feeling badly, rashes, changes in bowel routines, etc.  Varying from 1 to 3 capsules can modify these symptoms to a comfortable level.  It is not unusual to experience die off symptoms as your body purges the Candida. Consider a diet of raw foods during your cleanse, and drink LOTS of lemon water.  

Oils, blends & products recommended:

  • Primary: GX Assist, PB Assist
  • Secondary: Lemon, melaleuca, oregano
  • Also consider: Lavender, myrrh, rosemary, Zendocrine

Suggested protocols:

Use the GX Assist/PB Assist protocol monthly (or more often to start with): 

  • 1-3 GX Assist capsules daily with meals for 10 days
  • Follow with probiotic PB Assist                  

  The Candida Cleanse attributed to Dr. Hill that includes the following blend:

  • 5 drops of lemon
  • 5 drops of melaleuca
  • 3 drops on oregano

Put the oils into a gel cap and take internally twice a day for 10-14 days, rest two weeks and repeat the procedure. (The above cleanse has now been streamlined into a premade blend called GXAssist described previously)

Symptoms vary from person to person and fluctuate in severity, or may come and go. Most symptoms are invisible, which makes it difficult for others to understand the vast array of debilitating symptoms with which we contend.

 The most common are:

an incapacitating fatigue, problems with concentration and short-term memory, flu-like symptoms such as pain in the joints and muscle, extreme tightness in the shoulders and neck, hyper-acidity/acid reflux, brown colored mucus in the back of the throat, blisters in the mouth/tongue/throat, either white or “blood blisters”, un-refreshing sleep, sore throat, white coated tongue, dark circles under the eyes, an aversion to being touched or jumping, “crawling” skin, chronic sinus problems and headaches including migraines, chronic dental problems, Visual disturbances may include blurring, sensitivity to light and eye pain.

Depression, irritability, anxiety, panic attacks, recurring obsessive thoughts, personality changes and mood swings (irrational rage or crying for no reason – fear of talking to people, any kind of confrontation, isolation), paranoia,

 More of the physical symptoms may include:

chills and night sweats, shortness of breath, dizziness and balance problems, sensitivity to heat and/or cold, alcohol intolerance, gluten and/or casein intolerance, irregular heartbeat, irritable bowel, constipation and/or diarrhea, painful gas and abdominal bloating, low-grade fever or low body temperature, numbness, tingling and/or burning sensations in the face or extremities, dryness of the mouth and eyes, difficulty swallowing, projectile vomiting. Also: menstrual problems including PMS and endometriosis, recurrent yeast infections, recurrent ear infections, rashes and dry, flaking skin, eczema, dermatitis, acne, skin discoloration and/or blotchiness, dandruff, jock and rectal itching, chronic athlete’s foot, chronic toenail and fingernail fungus, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), allergies and sensitivities to noise/sound, foods, odors, chemicals, anemia, weight changes without changes in diet, light-headedness, feeling in a fog, fainting, muscle twitching and muscle weakness, restless leg syndrome, low sex drive and/or numbness in the genital area

Basic Body Cream

Best Body Cream!

This is by far the best body cream recipe I have found! We have had several fun classes making lotion with CPTG essential oils this past month! This is a great way to get started using essential oils. Also fantastic way to have them already dilluted and ready to go for use anywhere on the body with no worries!

A couple of must have blends at my house are:
* Deep Blue and Lemongrass– I use this lotion everyday for arthritis pain in my hands. I LOVE it! This takes care of the pain for the day.
* Peppermint and Breathe– I have a big 4oz jar of this on hand at all times! This is what I use for sick kids in place of “vapor rub” It is so much better. Not greasy and sticky like the other stuff, and works so much better!
* Serenity, Citrus Bliss, Elevation & Balance– Mood Matirx in a jar! This is a great lotion for anytime! Stress, calming, just because! It always makes us feel great! The best part about this lotion (besides the fact it is so easy to make), is that you can just have a blend handy for anything! It makes a great gift. If you or your loved ones are not sure how to begin with essential oils lotion is a great start. Thanks to Tamalu Watkins for sharing her recipe with us!

Basic Body Cream
Basic Body Cream Recipe (All measurements are by weight)
Hard oils (solid when cool):
2 ½ oz virgin coconut oil
½ oz cocoa butter or other hard oil
1 oz beeswax pastilles or grated beeswax
Soft oils (liquid when cool):
4 oz almond or other light oil
2 oz olive or other heavy oil
9 oz distilled water 45-90 drops essential oil, as desired
Kitchen scale
Glass measuring cups with pour spouts (1-cup, 2-cup and 4-cup)
Hotplate or stovetop Rubber bowl scrapers
Chopstick Stick blender/mixing tool
Clean containers for storing lotion
Wooden craft sticks for stirring Wash hands, utensils and surfaces, clearing workspace of contaminants.
Weigh hard oil into 2-cup glass measure. Place cup in saucepan with 1-2 inches of hot water, over low to medium heat, and stir with chop stick until melted and clear. Meanwhile, weigh soft oils into 1-cup glass measure.
Weigh distilled water into 4-cup glass measure. Slowly pour soft oils into melted oils and stir until smooth. Place the cup of distilled water in the hot-water saucepan (if your pan is small, remove the cup of oils first).
With a clean finger, check distilled water to be sure it is room temperature. When oil mixture and distilled water are both lukewarm to room temperature, insert stick blender into distilled water. Process at high speed. Drizzle oil mixture into whirling water. It will sputter and begin to thicken.
Scrape oil cup clean and continue to process until oil and water have blended into a thick, creamy semi-liquid with no water floating or beading on top.
Depending on room temperature and tools, this may take 5-15 minutes. Hear the cream change (called emulsification), and feel the mixing tool pulling to the bottom of the glass. Let sit a few minutes if there is any question whether or not it is finished. Process longer if water forms on top.
If adding essential oils to the entire batch, do it at this point, stirring well. If not, pour cream into clean, dry jars, as full as possible. Add essential oils to each jar as desired. Cap with tight fitting lids. Prevent introduction of bacteria, and spoilage, by using clean craft sticks to scoop cream out. Store in a cool dry place. Use within 6 months.

Vegetable Oils and Their Uses for Body Cream:

All vegetable oils have nutrients which will be absorbed through the skin. Substitute as desired. Almond, Sweet: Light, all-purpose. All skin types, especially irritated and dry skin. Apricot Kernel: Light, astringent. Eye, facial creams. Avocado (Oil: Heavy. Butter: Hard): Leaves barrier on the skin. Massage and outdoor creams. Beeswax: Hard oil. Great for skin! Castor: Heavy. Lip gloss, rough elbows, eczema, psoriasis. Great for nails! Cocoa Butter: Hard oil. Body and sunburn creams. Fractionated Coconut: Very Light. All-purpose. Virgin Coconut: Hard oil. Penetrates and softens. Vegetable Glycerine: Water-soluble additive. Clear, slippery, specifically rehydrates skin. Grapeseed: Light. All-purpose. Hazelnut: Identical to apricot. Jojoba: Light. Stores well. Nice all-purpose oil. Macadamia Nut: Mature, damaged or scarred skin. Extra-Virgin Olive: Heavy. Blend with lighter oils. Rose Hip Seed: Heavy. Mature, damaged, scarred, burned or weathered skin. Sesame Seed: Light. Low SPF, great for sunscreens. Shea Butter: Hard oil. All-purpose, all skin types.
